The sweetest, swingiest tunes

One of the most beautiful qualities for a dancer is live music. Nothing can compare to the sound of original music being played here and now. The solos are spontaneous, the sound is richer and the dancer can share the same joy as the musicians - the joys of Swing.

It was by dancing to live bands that the Lindy Hop originally developed in the Savoy Ballroom, Harlem, during the 1930's. It was the dancer's ability to be able to replicate the spontanaity and improvisation of the music in their dance that helped the Lindy flourish. A sense of freedom that crossed all bounrdaries and knew no limits.

Although more than 70 years have passed since the Lindy saw it's first 'swing-out', the pleasure and excitment of dancing to live music has not softened with time. Those who have heard even just one of the bands to the left can attest to the quality of Swing one can expect to hear during the festival.
